We informed you about the draft of a planned change to EN 1088:1996 in the 24/02/07
edition of the MRL (Machinery Directive – MD) News dated 14.02.2007. This information concerned the amendment AMD 1 on the subject "The use of design to minimise opportunities for circumvention" that has been passed some time ago and has also in the meantime been incorporated into the current version of the standard.

The background behind the new requirements is that interlocking devices for position monitoring in particular
