This proves that the trend, which Schmersal already has noticed for some years now, carries on: SPS/ IPC/ DRIVES is becoming the second leading fair for electrical automation, in addition to the Hannover Fair – and is developing into the most interesting fair of the second half of the year.

The highlight of the Schmersal’s fair presentation at booth 9 was the new optoelectronics programme. Due to the acquisition of Safety Control GmbH/ Safety Protec GmbH in October 2008, the Schmersal Group now can offer a complete programme of high-quality safety light curtains and light grids: a red-hot innovation, which raised the interest of many booth visitors.

Other themes that Schmersal presented at SPS/ IPC/ DRIVES were the simplified wiring of safety switchgear through safety-oriented bus systems (keyword AS-i SaW) and the extension of the explosion-proof switchgear portfolio.
